How Wix Website Design Works
Some things I will need to know:
Website Pages: How many pages do you anticipate the website will have? For example: Home, About, Services, Case Studies, Contact, etc.
Written Content: How much of the website's written copy do you have already, and how much do you need me to create?
Media and Graphics: How much of the website's visual media do you have already, and how much do you need me to create?
Functionalities: Are there any specific features or functionalities you want on the website (e.g., auto-sorting contact forms, appointment booking, client testimonial section, downloadable resources, blog section, e-commerce, password-protected pages, etc.)?
Maintenance and Updates: Do you require ongoing maintenance and updates for the website after it’s launched?
Timeline: Do you have a specific deadline or timeframe in mind for the project?
How Your Quote Works:
Your quote will not only include my time spent designing the website itself, but also all the copywriting (or whatever copy you delegate to me), as well as the back-end email system setup, search engine optimization (SEO), and data organization. For the most part, time spent in communication with you regarding your vision for the project is free of charge.
Keep in mind that your quote will be at most an educated guess, as there are an immense number of variables that can affect how long it takes to complete an image compositing project— not to mention changes/additions/revisions you choose to make along the way.
Make sure to check out my Policies page and FAQs page for more information.
How the future of your site will work:
After your website is published, you'll easily be able to add content to it yourself from your Wix Dashboard using Wix's Dynamic Pages. If you need help understanding how these work, I'm here for you.
As an SEO expert, I will ensure your site is discoverable while also taking advantage of Wix's beautiful design capabilities and data organization systems, as well as their newly released Studio Editor.
When our contract is finished, I'll still be in touch as your lifelong tech support. Just shoot me a text or give me a call and in most cases, I can fix whatever issue you’re facing with your website in short order. If the fix is something I can do in 15 minutes or less, I won’t charge you.
How payment works:
My website design process is structured into clear phases, each tied to milestone payments. This ensures transparency and provides checkpoints for feedback throughout the project. Payment is divided across the following key stages:
Website Concept and Wireframe Development
The project can begin with design research, concept creation, and planning the overall structure of the website. This phase establishes the foundation for the design direction.
Website Design and First Draft Presentation
The visual design of the website is developed, incorporating branding, graphics, layouts, and copy if needed. A first draft is presented for feedback and refined based on client input.
Final Website Delivery and Handover
The completed design is prepared for handover. This includes finalized design files (such as JPEG, WEBP, or layered PSD files) and any necessary assets ready for development.
I offer Afterpay and Klarna as checkout options, which means you can easily set up a payment plan by following these instructions.
When I send the invoice, it will come from dawson@fortheking.design. I'll notify you when I send it so make sure to check spam if you don't see it. If you have any trouble locating your invoice, please follow these instructions.
Time for some expectation setting.
A project like this is a back-and-forth sort of thing. I always follow my client's instructions as precisely as possible, but it's still uncommon for the first version of the site to be exactly what you envisioned. Maybe someday we will be able to neurally link our brains together and you can imprint your exact vision on my mind, but until then there will likely be several iterations. This type of project also requires lots of back-and-forth communication between us, especially regarding any dynamic data on your site. One way to vastly speed up the process is to provide me with example websites— visuals I can see to help convey your ideas. After all, they are worth a thousand words.
Sometimes a website will be completed or nearing completion in 2-6 weeks, and sometimes it's done in a few days. This is primarily due to:
1) the complexity of your project,
2) any modifications you wish to make during the process,
3) and the speed at which you're able to provide feedback.
As large as this range is, it's the most precise timeline I can provide without knowing the details of your project and how promptly you will provide your valuable feedback.
